Installation Instructions for Windows
Starting the Installer Program
If you downloaded the MIDSA software double-click or right-click the installer icon (its name will be MIDSA_Installer.exe). This will appear:

Choose “Run as administrator.” NOTE: you need to have administrative privileges to do this. If you are in a standard account, Windows should prompt you for an administrative username and password.
Windows will ask you:

Answer “Yes.”
If you already have a MIDSA installed on your computer, you will get the following message: (If not, skip to Running the Installer Program)

If you have not made a backup of your old MIDSA, please press Cancel and make a backup. (Launch MIDSA, go to Tasks menu at the top of the window, choose System Backup and then Save Backup and follow the directions of the Assistant).
MIDSA Installer then informs you that:

Click on the Next button.

Click on the Uninstall button. And your old MIDSA will be uninstalled.

Running the Installer Program
The MIDSA Setup Wizard appears.

Click on the Next Button. The License Agreement will appear.

Please read the agreement and click I agree if you do.
The next window tells you that MIDSA and a Java Runtime Environment will be installed. The latter is the programming language in which MIDSA is written. Both are required.

Click the Next button.
The next window of the installation allows you to choose to add MIDSA to the Start menu.

If you do nothing, a MIDSA folder will be created in Programs in the Start menu (you may have to scroll down to see it). It will contain the MIDSA program and the Documentation. If you prefer another location in the All Programs menu, choose that folder.
We do not recommend clicking on the checkbox Do not create shortcuts at the bottom of the dialog box. This will prevent access to the MIDSA program from the Programs menu.
The installer will also create a shortcut to MIDSA on your desktop. You’ll recognize it by the red ball.
Click the Install button.
